Liturgical Ministries Liturgical Schedule

 

LITURGY COMMITTEE
Plans activities to enhance and promote the spiritual life of the parish community
Plans for and decorates the church throughout the seasons of the year.

Composed of parishioners who meet monthly
Any parishioner is welcome to join.

CHILDREN’S LITURGY COMMITTEE
Creates opportunities for the children to more meaningfully participate in liturgy
And in the liturgical and evangelical life of the parish


The Children's activities include:
Monthly Children's Mass with the Children's Choir
Children liturgies at Christmas and Easter
Advent and Lenten projects
Decoration of the church
Age appropriate meditations after communion
Special offertory gifts
Religious articles given to the children on special occasions
Participation in other parish related events.
Meets monthly September to May and once in the summer to develop a plan for the following year and to socialize.
Coordinates with the Liturgy Committee and other Parish Committees.

ALTAR SERVERS
Perform a special and privileged role in the celebration of the Sacred Liturgy
By assisting the celebrant and attending to the altar.


Young people entering the fifth grade or higher are invited join
They must be baptized Catholics, registered in the parish and have received First Eucharist.

Altar Servers Schedule

EUCHARIST MINISTERS
Have the sacred responsibility and privilege to help in the celebration of the Liturgy by distributing the Holy Eucharist.

Parishioners who are practicing Catholics are invited to become a Eucharist Minister.

Eucharist Ministers Schedule

LECTORS
Official ministers of the Mass who proclaim God’s Word during the Liturgy.

Parishioners are welcome to participate in this ministry.

Lectors Schedule

USHERS
Welcome people to the church
Assist in the seating of worshippers
Direct the flow of people during communion and at other times during the service
Collect and are responsible for the offertory collection
Distribute bulletins and other handouts
In an emergency, are responsible for contacting the appropriate authorities
If needed, oversee the orderly evacuation of the church

New ushers are always welcome.

MUSICAL MINISTRIES

CANTORS
Enhance the beauty of the liturgy by leading the congregation in song-prayer

Are usually invited to join by the Music Director
Must complete an audition
Range in age from high school student to senior citizen
Meet once a month
Sing two or three times per month at weekend Masses
Cantors must have the ability to lead the congregation in song.
To become a cantor, contact Bonnie Kabara through the Parish Office.


ADULT CHOIR
Contributes to the worship of God through well prepared and presented song-prayer and instrumentals.
The Choir Performs at the 10:00 a.m. Mass On Sundays from September to Mothers Day and at special liturgies
Such as holy week, graduation, etc.


Rehearses on Thursday evenings from September through May
Does not sing one weekend per month
Membership is open to volunteers. We invite you to join.

CHILDREN’S CHOIR
 
Sing at five special liturgies and monthly at the 11:30 a.m. Children's
Liturgy.


Participants of this group are usually in Grades 2 through 8.
Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings a week or two before the liturgy.
To join keep an eye on the church bulletins
Or contact Bonnie Kabara through the Parish Office.

CONTEMPORY YOUTH MUSIC GROUP
Sings and plays instruments at special Masses and at Christmas.

Rehearsals are in July and August on Saturdays 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. and Saturdays near Christmas.
Those who play instruments or sing well are invited to join

BAPTISMS
Sundays by appointment.
Please call the Parish Center for information concerning Baptismal Preparation Program and regulations.

MARRIAGE
Couples planning to be married should contact Deacon Tom six months in advance.
Engaged couples are expected to take the pre-Cana course.

RELIGION CLASSES (CCD)
Pre-Kindergarten thru 8th grade ¬Sundays 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
Senior High - 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month, 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
