PASTORAL COUNCIL
The Pastoral Council of the Church of the Ascension assists the Pastor in all aspects of the life of the faith community by:
- Consulting and advising
- Representing the parishioners’ interests
- Assisting the Pastor in parish administration through recommendations and active support
- Being a forum where ideas are generated and acted upon
- Reviewing and recommending the parish and school budgets
- Identifying needs and setting goals
- Performing tasks to assist in the smooth administration and operation of the parish
- Collaborating with the other Pastoral Councils in our cluster
- Working with religious, civic, business and professional entities for the commonwealth
COMPOSITION
Ten members elected to serve three-year terms.
Four members appointed by the pastor to a one-year term.
And ex officio members of the staff (non-voting).
MEETINGS
The first Monday of September, December, March and June at 6:30 p.m. unless that is a holiday then on the following Monday.
